Tips for Saving Money on the Paleo Diet

Are you transitioning to the Paleo diet and wondering how you will save money? I have good news for you, you can save money, it is just a matter of how. Check out my tips for saving money on the paleo diet.

It takes work and preparation:

The thing about the Paleo diet is that you aren’t going to be able to go through a drive through and get what you need. To save money and be successful with the Paleo diet, it takes work and dedication. That’s okay, right? Because you know in the end, this is a GOOD thing for you! I just wanted to touch base so we all were on the same page!

Buy your ingredients in bulk:

You already know this tip if you eat Paleo. Eating healthy can be expensive, which is why buying in bulk makes the most sense. Buying meat in bulk and dairy in bulk is a GREAT way to save money on the Paleo diet. I use a lot of the same ingredients for Paleo meals, it’s nice to save in this area.

Buying in season is your best bet:

The Paleo diet requires lots of fruits and veggies, which is not a bad thing. You may want to consider adjusting your diet to fit in season produce. I find it so much cheaper to buy produce that is in season rather than out of season. Find the cheapest place to buy produce in your area and go with it. In my area, it is Aldi. Buying frozen fruits and vegetables can also help you save money. You could even grow your own produce and enjoy savings that way.

Eat foods that are inexpensive but dense nutritionally:

Foods that are dense nutritionally, help you to stay fuller longer. Foods like peanuts have the power to make you feel fuller longer. While you should watch how many items, like peanuts, you consume—this is an inexpensive way to feel fuller longer and stay on budget.

Look for inexpensive recipes you can use:

Not every person who eats a Paleo diet eats fancy foods. The basis of eating Paleo is going back to the very basics. There is something amazing about eating the way we were intended. A simple recipe is a tool you can use to help keep costs down, but also enjoy this way of eating still

I’d love to hear your tips for saving money on the Paleo diet.
