This week we’re going to tackle the bedroom! Grab our printable Bedroom Spring Cleaning checklist and let’s get started! Don’t forget to create your Spring Cleaning Action Plan & tackle the kitchen, bathroom, and living areas!
Bedroom Spring Cleaning Steps
- Get anything out of the bedroom that doesn’t belong there & gather your cleaning supplies.
- Strip your bed & throw your sheets & pillowcases in the wash.
- Wash your comforter. I’m able to do mine at home using an accordion fold, but you may need to go to a laundry mat if you have a smaller washer. Use tennis balls in the dryer to keep the fill from compacting, so you don’t end up with a lumpy comforter!
- Wash your pillows if they are machine-washable. Use wool dryer balls to fluff them up & help them dry faster.
- Flip your matress before making it. Sprinkle baking soda before and after you flip it to keep it smelling fresh. If you have severe allergies, you can vacuum it too.
- Tidy top of dresser, bookshelves, nightstand, and all other surfaces. Get rid of any clutter!
- Go through closet, getting rid of everything you don’t wear. If you are having trouble deciding, try the backward hanger trick. Switch the direction your clothes face, so the hook of the hanger faces the front of your closet. Every time you put laundry away for the next three months, put the clothes in normally. Anything with a backward hanger at the end of three months hasn’t been worn and you can donate/sell it.
- Clean out dresser and nightstand drawers. Get rid of anything you don’t need and organize the rest. Amazon has a great selection of drawer organizers for low prices!
- Wash curtains/blinds & windows.
- Dust everything & polish furniture.
- Use soapy water to wipe down the walls.
- Make your bed.
- Sweep/Vacuum.
- Mop/Shampoo Carpet.
- Done!
