Jelly bean Cookies

Here is another cute and super easy recipe for you to try for Easter. You can make Jelly bean Cookies! Everyone loves jelly beans, right? This is a made from scratch recipe other than the jelly beans that is.

You will need to have an egg shaped cookie cutter to make these. You will also need something to roll the dough out such as a rolling pin.

You can always make up a batch for you and the family or even do an extra batch or two to give as gifts. You can also wrap up a few and put them in your basket.

Jelly bean Cookies

Course Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup softened salted butter
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups all purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325 degrees and a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Use a hand to beat your butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Mix in your almond extract, vanilla extract and egg.
  4. Mix in your flour one cup at a time.
  5. Form your dough into a large ball and roll it out to 1/4" thick.
  6. Use your egg shaped cookie cutter to cut your Easter egg shaped out from your dough.
  7. Place your Easter eggs on your baking sheet.
  8. Carefully cut your jelly beans in half lengthwise and some widthwise and lightly press them onto the top of each egg.
  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes and let cool.
