Homemade Churros are a must for Mexican dinner night! This super easy Churro recipe is very quick to make and they disappear just as quickly! If you’ve never had a churro, you are missing out! They are a delicious fried dough covered in cinnamon sugar.
Mix sugar, water, salt, and butter in a pan. This size saucepan should work well for it. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat. Stir in the flour over low heat, until it dries out a little bit. Remove from heat and allow it to cool for about 15 minutes.
Using a stand mixer (or you can mix it by hand), add the eggs one at a time and beat well after each egg. Fill a ziplock bag (or piping bag) and fit with a large star tip. In a frying pan, heat the oil to about 350 degrees, and cut off about 3-4 inch sections of the churro dough into the hot oil. Fry for about 2 minutes, until they golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and allow oil to drip off before tossing in your cinnamon sugar mixture.
They are great alone or with chocolate sauce!
