These fun multi-colored Easter Deviled Eggs are a fun experiment to make with kids, and delicious to eat!
Colorful Easter Deviled Eggs
Deviled eggs are a tradition that goes back decades when it comes to using leftover dyed Easter eggs, and this year you can create these simple and fun Easter Deviled Eggs with your kids to share at your after church Easter dinner. A bit of food coloring totally transforms a simple deviled egg recipe into something totally fun.
Boil your eggs as directed. Once you have allowed them to cool, peel the eggs and slice them in half. You’ll scoop the yolks out to mix up for the “deviled” part of the egg. But for now, you want to do the fun part which is dye the egg with fun colors. You might like this package of McCormick Neon Food Coloring because it has colors that seem more like pastel Easter Colors.
Use about 6 drops of food color in a cup of water to get a good color to come through in the eggs. We set up the counter with 4 different bowls for 4 different colors. You can use as many or as few different colors as you like. Once you have the eggs peeled, yolks out and the whites ready to go – you simply drop them right into the colored water. Let the whites sit for about 15 minutes, or a bit longer if you want darker colors. You can play around with more food coloring for deeper colors if you want.
Once they have been dyed, simply pull the out and let them dry on paper towels. Once they are dry, you can top them with the prepared egg yolk mixture and display them in a fun deviled egg tray for everyone to eat and enjoy.
