We all know how much we LOVE our coupons here on Raking In The Savings! We also know there are other things we can do around the house to save money!

Our friend Carol has years of experience doing everyday things to help make your money stretch a little further! She has offered to share some of those cash-saving tips with us, so we can all learn from her experience! These articles will be called Carol’s Cash Clips!

The first tip Carol has submitted over to us is something you can do to get some extra uses out of your Brillo or SOS Pads! Here is what Carol has to say:

Store your Brillo or SoS pads in a plastic container like the kind you get when you buy a small can of Folgers. When you use a Brillo or SOS pad, cut it in half! It will double the usage of the whole box! It is like using an Alberstons doubler without having to go to the store!

Now for the best part!  After you cut one in half and use it, place the used 1/2 into a baggie (it can be a fold-over cheapie, which really are the best for this use, or a zip-top bag). Just make sure the end is folded over and the air is out of the bag, as this will prevent the pad from rusting! How cool is that!? Just place the baggie back into the plastic container and it will be good for another time! You have just tripled your savings!!!  That is better then an Albertsons doubler anyday! 🙂

I am really excited to hear more of Carol’s tips! The next step to saving money on your grocery bill, is doing simple things to save money at home!

You will see Carol’s Cash Clips once or twice a week, whenever Carol has a great idea to send our way! My son is heading out right now to bring me my box of Brillo pads! 8)
