cube steak

Yesterday, Super 1 Foods had a huge meat sale and a reader sent us a great money saving tip!  Her family loves Cube Steak and it is normally around $4.95lb! So, yesterday during the meat sale she picked up some London Broil for $2.78 lb and asked if the butcher would make it into Cube Steaks for her!  What a great money saving tip Tali! Thank you for sending that over!

If you did not get stocked up at the sale yesterday, check out the great buy you can get on 100% Natural (never frozen) Zaycon Foods Chicken Breasts!

I do the same thing when they have pork roasts on sale for $0.99 or $1.19 I pick up a few and have the butcher cut pork chops out of it, pork ribs, pork cubes evn ground pork for burgers and meatloaf mix.. If you get the hams when on sale around holiday times instead of paying $3.95 lb for sliced ham you buy the on sale and have them slice sandwich slices, breakfast steak slices, have them cube some for beans. Then that is done all for $.99lb a great savings and save that bone for beans. Still have from Thanksgiving and Christmas. I guess by now you realize when they have the whole beef tenderloins or t-bonesfor $3.99 same thing cut steaks breakfast and bbq, end pieces have them cut 1 1/2 ” cubes for skewers or beef stroganoff. Like prime rib buy the whole ribey and have them cut to size usually $12.99 lb on sale whole ribeyes $4.99lb. The prices are cheap and the work is done just rewra seperate with wax paper or butcher paper and fill your freezer. When on rare occasions when chuck roast o sirloins are on sale cheap I even have them grind into burger meat.
Thebest time to shop clearance meat is Winn Dixie marks theres down at night where most stores markdown first thing in morning same for breads and baked goods. You can freeze anything I even learned how to freeze grapes this year. The only thing have found does not freeze well is sliced cheese. It is good to cook with but if going to freeze need to seperate each slice as sticks together.
I am a fomer Navy wife and learned a lot of tricks on the cheap to eat.

Lori, Thanks so much for the information. It is always nice to get new tips on saving money and making meal planning easier! The butchers are usually pretty willing to help out so next time there is a good buy on meat, I will try this out. Thanks again for these great ideas. :)
